THE LAW LIBRARY
- The primary goal of the Law Library and
its staff is
to provide library services to the students and the staff
of the Faculty of Law. The library service also extends
to attorneys and other law professionals in the Bergen
and West Coast area - along with foreign guests and
visitors.
- The library is situated in the middle of the faculty
building and is easy to reach.
- The library staff is there to assist you, in identifying
and locating the literature. The library staff consists of
lawyers, librarians, clerks and law students.
- The Law Library ("Det juridiske
fakultetsbibliotek", UBBJUR) is one out of
seven
department libraries at the
University of Bergen Library
("Universitetsbiblioteket i Bergen", UBB).
THE COLLECTIONS
- The Law Library, including the EU
i - European Information (formerly European
Documetation Centre, EDC), has a collection of more than 100.000 volumes and subscribes to more than
2000 different law
journals and law reports - national, Scandinavian and
international, including an ever increasing amount of law in electronic wrapping. The collections
are located at one floor
level (some minor exceptions), and on the web.
- The library procures all "serious" Scandinavian
legal literature, as well as books, journals and reports
in foreign languages from other countries in Europe, from
EU, and from the US.
- Besides from the law, we procure literature from related
fields like political science, (legal) philosophy,
(legal) history, sociology of law, and criminology.
Please make acquisition suggestions.
