More about the new database

The database for research documentation at UoB will consist of several modules when it is fully developed:

Research Activities
Publications and other results of research
Dissertation abstracts
Press releases for doctorands
Abstracts for Master Thesis
Annual reporting, local and national
Strategic plans for future research at the departments, Resesarch Reports

Output and reports will amongst other be specified by the need UoB has to provide an efficient reporting to Minstery of Education, Research and Church Affaires (KUF) and Norwegian Research Database. Further the need to meet the demand of data used in local planning and dissemination.

The database will provide the possibility to report Annual reports on a web interface. The need to compare different data types for KUF and annual reporting for relevant parts of the database.

Routines for exporting both project and result data to FORSKDOK in BIBSYS and Norwegian Research Database for research projects ( and through these to relevant EU databases) are under development.

The new database is based on the experience the Section has from working within the field since 1992  and participation in the field both nationally and internationally, eg.
euroCRIS and Ergo.

The new database is based on a recommendation from international work on research documentation databases,
CERIF.

The database is a relational database that are running on SQLServer. For web interface  Active Server Pages (ASP) is used.
