CERIF (Common European Research Information Format) has developed since the late eighties as a recommendation to member states of the EU (European Union). The current version is CERIF2002. It is intended for use in CRISs (Current Research Information Systems). The EC (European Commission) has transferred the custodianship of CERIF to euroCRIS (www.eurocris.org) Its purpose is to :
